At the Open House event, DTU Informatics was represented by staff and students from Software technology, IT & Health and MatTek.
At the Software technology stall, the students demonstrated a fourth semester project (Snakes game) and the visitors could have a go at an algorithmically oriented problem (the two egg problem) and discuss this with the students. IT & Health was represented by mannequins and a live 3D EPJ system from IBM which was demonstrated by former surgeon and doctor, Palle Louw.
The tours of DTU Informatics with the lectures and demonstrations and the stalls were popular and the feedback from the VIPs in charge was that they got to talk to a lot of very interested students.
Even though it is unrealistic to expect that all our visitors will choose DTU for their bachelor’s degree, Peter Røgen is of the opinion that the Open House event has a lot of influence on the choices of the students who choose the MatTek programme. The same effect could be expected for the Software technology and IT & Health programmes.
