DTU Informatics (IMM)

Department of Informatics and Matematical Modelling (IMM) carries out research in computer science and information processing. Computerised mathematical models play an increasingly decisive role within engineering science, i.e. within industrial production, within planning and economics, within the hospital sector, etc. DTU Informatics's activities are aimed at methodologies enabling one to deal with today's ever increasing quantities of information.

Typically, DTU Informatics research activities are based on specific, practical problems, often in close co-operation with knowledge-based companies or institutions.  The research has a key position within DTU's focus area Information Technology, and is closely related to several of the other DTU focus areas.

DTU Informatics offers research based statistical consulting through IMM Statistical Consulting Center (ISCC). Consulting reqiures an agreement is made, and it is generally payed according to standard prices at DTU. Short term consulting to students, PhD students and staff at DTU is generally free-of-charge.
