Department of Transport deals with research in traffic and transport planning. The primary interests lie within traffic and transport models, traffic technique and planning, decision and evaluation models, logistics, traffic information and geographical information systems (GIS), intelligent transport systems (ITS) and design of transportation networks.
We act as consultants to public authorities as well as to private companies within questions regarding traffic and transport planning. This includes analyses in connection to large infrastructure investments such as construction of roads, harbours, airports, railways, metro, light rail, transport corridors, transport terminals etc.
At DTU Transport the relation between research, development and real-life applications is of great importance. We combine knowledge on technology, descriptive and evaluation models, quantitative methods and IT, and develop efficient solution in cooperation with our partners.
