The research area is within the field of Lab-on-a-chip and is
focused on using carbon nanotubes for chemical analysis (microchip
electrochromatography) in e.g. environmental and forensic science.
Carbon nanotubes have a very strong interaction with hydrophobic
molecules that can be used in the chips for analysis of e.g
persistent organic pollutants, POPs (PCBs, dioxins, pesticides etc)
and poly aromatic hydrocarbons (combustion products from incomplete
burning of fuels that caused cancer).
Furthermore expertise in integration of optical elements, such
as planar waveguides, photonic crystals, lenses and fiber-couplers
for detection in microfluidic devices.
