Fees

All students wanting to enrol as part-time students under Open University have to pay a participation fee. If you are not a Danish citizen and if you furthermore come from a non EU/EEA country you also have to pay a tution fee.

 

Participation Fee

The participation fee for courses within the Vacant Place Scheme is DKK 700 per ECTS point (as of April 1st 2010) with a minimum of DKK 3500. The number of ECTS points of each course can be seen in the description of the course in the course base. The price of materials vary from course to course.

 

You can be enrolled as a guest students if you study at another university and can obtain credit point transfer to your own education. Guest students do not have to pay participation fees although there may be fees for materials.

 

HD-students have to pay participation fee even though they can get a credit point transfer as the HD-education is part of higher educational offers within DTU Match. 

 

Tuition Fee for Non Danish Citizens

As of August 1st 2006, you must pay tuition fees on all institutions of higher education in Denmark if you are not a Danish citizen and if you furthermore come from a non-EU/EEA country. In addition to the participation fee of DKK 700 per ECTS point you have to pay a participation fee of DKK 1710 per ECTS point. However, you do not have to pay tuition fee if you come from an EU/EEA country. In that case you only have to pay participation fee.

 

EU/EEA Countries

The EU/EEA countries are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cuprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain,  Sweden, the Czech Rep. and the Netherlands.

 

All other countries are defined as non-EU/EEA countries.

 

However, the following non-EU/EEA citizens will continue to be exempt from paying tuition fees:  

  • Students studying in Denmark in exchange for Danish students taking their places at their home universities according to agreements between Danish universities and one or more universities abroad.  
  • Students with residential permits of indefinite duration or temporary residence permits with the possibility of obtaining permanent residence in Denmark.  
  • Students who have dual citizenship in both an EU country and a non-EU country.

 

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee for Open University students is DKK 1710 for each ECTS point.

 

Residence Permit

You must submit a copy of your residence permit, if you are not a Danish citizen and you come from a non-EU/EEA country.

 

For the part-time MSc programmes, the price is made up of a tuition fee, a building fee and self-payment. The price will vary from programme to programme.

 

Please note that the tuition fee is charged course by course for students on the Open University programme, while the fee for part-time MSc programmes studies is charged per semester.

 

NB

Please note that students participating in courses on part-time programmes have to pay for the courses in addition to the new tuition fee.
