DTU offers Erasmus Exchange students and international MSc students at DTU a three week long, ECTS credited course in the Danish language and culture.

Dates: Next Summer Course is August 5th - August 25th, 2012

ECTS: 5

Course Content

The objective of the course is to introduce the students to the Danish language and culture in order to enable them to communicate by using Danish in simple everyday situations. It is not a prerequisite to know any Danish in order to participate.

The cultural component of the course will give the students a broad knowledge of the Danish society. Lectures on Danish society and history will be held by instructors as well as members of the local society. The lectures will be on the structure of the Danish political system, the labor market and Danish industry, as well as on Danish literature and Danish customs. This will give the students the relevant knowledge and understanding to enable them to participate in conversations with their future Danish friends and colleagues.

The course will be concluded by an examination.

Language instruction will take place in the mornings from 9-12 hrs.

Instruction in Danish culture and history will, as a general rule, take place in the afternoons, from 14-17 hrs. There will also be excursions to places of historical and cultural relevance. One 2-day excursion to the Danish North Sea Coast is under preparation.

You will be taught by professional Danish teachers with many years of experience in teaching international students. All teachers have a very friendly and personal approach to their students.
