DTU Chemistry Lecture - Professor De-Yin Wu

'Electrochemical Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy for Molecular Adsorption and Chemical Reactions on Nanostructures'

Professor De-Yin Wu is employed as an OTTO MØNSTED guest
Professor at the Department of Chemistry from the 1st of July to the 30th September 2017. Professor Wu is Professor at Institute of Electrochemical Science and Engineering (IESE), State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University, China. He and his research team have strong expertise on theoretical and experimental study of surface-enhanced Raman scattering and plasmon-enhanced chemical reactions. His host is Professor Jingdong Zhang at the NanoChemistry group, DTU Chemistry.

Professor De-Yin Wu received his PhD degree in Department of Chemistry at Shichuan University in 1998, and did his postdoc research at Xiamen University. In 2006 he was appointed as a Professor and is promoted to Distinguished Professor in 2017 at Xiamen University. Currently he is leading a group with 6 PhD and 4 master students.

Professor De-Yin Wu combines theoretical and experimental study extensively. His team studies a number of newly developed metal nanostructures using surface-enhanced Raman scattering and Plasmon-enhanced chemical reactions. By combining density functional theoretical approach to surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, his works provide a clear physical picture for the chemical enhancement mechanism and relationship between molecular structures and surface-enhanced Raman spectra of electrochemical interfaces at the molecular level.
