Contaminant mass discharge of chlorinated solvents in clay tills: Concepts, quantification and risk assessment The PhD project looks into the contaminant mass discharge (CMD) in clay till, and how to quantify this. The primary goal is to include the CMD as a part of the general risk assessment of contaminated sites located in clay till settings. The project includes a review of state-of-the-art field methods that could be interesting to test in the field. The test results will be compared with a standard CMD located in the groundwater aquifer downstream the contaminant source. My PhD project is a part of a bigger project done in cooperation with the Capital Region of Denmark. Prior to the PhD study, I worked as a research assistant on the project GrundRisk. This project was about updating the Danish risk assessment model for contaminated sites, and performed for the Danish EPA. During the project, some workshops was held with the Danish regions (the stakeholders), who are in charge of the risk assessment and remediation of contaminated sites.
