Utilizing GPS satellites (Global Positioning System) for precise time stamping of measurements in the electric transmission system, yields excellent verification of mathematical models in simulation tools and the electric supply system can be analyzed in details for oscillation modes and angular stability. Furthermore, the monitoring of the risk of voltage collapse is essentially improved.
In the project 4 PMU's have been developed, installed and operated in the Eastern Danish electric power system
