Electricity demand as frequency controlled reserve

Research project

In cooperation with Ea Energianalyse, Centre for Electric Technology, DTU Electrical Engineering, is carrying out a research project on the possibilities of utilising electricity demand as a frequency controlled reserve in the electric power system. The project, supported by Energinet.dk’s  PSO programme, will be carried out in the period from April 2006 to July 2008.

The objectives of the project are to analyse and consider the consequences for and possibilities of electricity demand in the Danish power system as a frequency controlled reserve and recommend a technical and financially efficient system design (technology, concept, control strategy, parameters, set points etc.) for electricity demand as a frequency controlled reserve. The intension is to put the results obtained into practice.
