Description
Expanding the share of wind power will increase the need for regulating power, and may at the same time reduce the capacity in the central power units – those who traditionally has supplied regulating power. However, there exists a potential for using demand as a stable and low cost resource for regulating power. In this project a simple and efficient market will be designed and tested. The market will make use of one way price signals to activate electricity demand and small scale generation as regulating power. Furthermore, the idea of using price signal to activate new resources as ancillary service will be studied.
