Every fourth year a research plan is worked out by the staff of the centre and approved by the CET centre committee. The research plan is a framework for the research activities of the centre, and the plan is used for development and prioritization of research activities. The research plan is part of the implementation of CET’s overall strategy.
Based on development trends and future demands within the professional field of the centre, the research plan describes focus areas for CET's research.
These areas have been determined from an analysis of the research requirements from the Danish energy companies and industry. They have their starting point in CET's competence basis and among others aims at exploiting the centre’s areas of strength.
The research plan deals with focus areas for the research and identifies specific research topics, which will be realized through the research projects initiated by the centre or through projects in which the centre is participating.
