Electric Energy Systems aims at developing a more intelligent, flexible and automated electric power system to handle the extension of the future renewable energy and embedded power generation on a liberal energy market maintaining a very high degree of the reliability of supply.
Electric Energy Systems' main research fields:
- Power system networks and control
- Distributed generation and renewable energy sources, including wind power
- Flexible demand technologies and integration between energy systems
- Electricity markets
Furthermore, we conduct research utilising PowerLabDK – an experimental platform for electric power and energy. PowerLabDK includes the Bornholm power system (55 MW; 30% wind power) and 3,000+ m2 lab facilities at DTU Electrical Engineering, Risø DTU and IHK.
