Around two-thirds of DTU’s scientific advice is provided via strategic framework agreements between DTU and the authority in question. DTU handles the remaining third of its scientific advice through individual partnership contracts, see Requisitioners and agreement types.
The framework agreements feature a long-term perspective that lays the foundations for a strategic partnership in which DTU delivers services in the form of research, consultancy, monitoring and contingency tasks for the long-term support of specific administration areas at the public sector authorities. See Assignment types.
The financing of framework agreements concerning scientific advice is included as a part of the Danish Financial Act process. DTU’s overarching management of the framework agreements is anchored centrally in the Office for Innovation & Sector Services, while the day-to-day management of the agreements and academic solutions are handled at institute-level.
DTU has framework agreements with the Ministry of Environment and Food, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate.
