Career

A PhD degree from DTU paves the way for a wide range of career opportunities. When you take a PhD degree, the education itself is particularly valuable. You will learn to understand complex research and complicated problems, to handle frustrating situations and solve research challenges. These skills are not only necessary in your academic work, but also highly relevant in industrial research and development laboratories and start-up businesses. PhD's are often employed as analysts and consultants based on their well-developed analytical skills.

A recent survey of PhD graduates from DTU between 2010 and 2014 shows that 74% of our graduates have found employment before completing their PhD degrees, 29% have been headhunted, 78% are employed as researchers and 47% are employed in the private sector.
