Mechanisms of endocrine disrupters
Endocrine disrupting chemicals
I am head of the Division of Toxicology and Risk Assessment at
the National Food Institute. The
Division of Toxicology and Risk Assessment works on promoting
health and preventing illness by performing research, teaching and
advising authorities on the human effects of chemical substances
and naturally occurring compounds in our food and environment. The
Division employs approximately 70 employees and offers an
inspiring working environment.
The researchs covers many areas from reproductive toxicology,
endocrine disruption, cancer, nanotoxicology, risk-benefit, food
allergy and QSAR. The researchers use human samples,
animal as well as cellular and computer models in order to predict
the effects of chemicals in humans.
I provide governmental advice for the Danish EPA regarding the use
of in vitro models and endocrine disruption, I am a member of
the advisory group for the use of pesticides and biocides
under the Danish EPA since 2010, member of the advising scientific
committee for Health and Environment under the Danish National
