The Section for Image Analysis and Computer Graphics at DTU Compute, invites applications for an appointment as part time researcher limited to two hours per week.

This position is available from the fall of 2018 or according to mutual agreement. The position as a researcher is a permanent entry-level position.

Our department DTU Compute is an internationally unique academic environment spanning the science disciplines mathematics, statistics and computer science with an engineering focus. As a result, we cover informatics and communication technologies (ICT) in their broadest sense, and we play a major role in addressing the societal challenges of the digital society where ICT is a part of every industry, service, and human endeavour.

DTU Compute plays a central role in education at all levels of the engineering programmes at DTU – both in terms of our scientific disciplines and our didactic innovation. 

With this position the section wants to strengthens its innovative focus in the clinical usage of medical image analysis. The purpose of the position is to create a bridge between the university research and start-up environments within medical imaging.

Responsibilities and tasks
The candidate is expected to take part in developing innovation within medical image analysis including supervision of B.Sc. and M.Sc. students in projects with a medicotechnical imaging focus.

The responsibility of the candidate is to be involved in research in medical image analysis, have occasional lectures in courses and supervise students. Furthermore, the candidate is expected to share experience in establishing a company based on research results.

Candidates must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). We seek a candidate with expertise in medical image analysis and experience in innovation within medicotechnology.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The position is only for two hours per week.

The position as a researcher is a permanent entry-level position. After a maximum of 4 years, a researcher can be promoted to a senior researcher position after assessment. More information can be found here: Career paths at DTU.
