The UNEP DTU Partnership (UDP) is a leading international research and advisory centre on energy, climate and sustainable development. We work in close partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) and have project activities in more than 50 developing countries. The Centre collaborates with a large number of international agencies, governments and research institutions, especially in developing countries. 

The successful candidate will join a team of over 60 professionals and scientists working in an international and interdisciplinary work environment that combines research, methodology development, capacity building and project implementation. The Low Carbon Development program works in the areas of mitigation policy, transparency and accountability and climate finance in developing countries.

Job description
The research assistant will be engaged in supporting international projects and related research, concept development, analyses, technical assistance and project management especially in the areas of climate change mitigation under the Paris Agreement, including all related topics such as transparency and accountability as well as finance. 

The successful candidate must have at least MSc degree, preferably in the areas of environmental engineering, energy and climate, development economics and/or finance and work experience within the field of energy and climate is an advantage.

The working language at the Centre is English. Due to a growing portfolio of activities worldwide we are especially interested in candidates who are also proficient in at least two other UN languages.

Terms of employment
The successful candidate will be employed in a two-year position according to the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The place of work is the UN City based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
