Centre for Energy Resources Engineering (CERE) at DTU Chemistry seeks a researcher within the field of High Pressure Phase Behaviour Experiment. CERE is a cross departmental centre (www.cere.dtu.dk). The CERE group at DTU Chemistry is focused on high pressure phase behaviour and other critical issues related to oil and gas production, petroleum processing, and carbon dioxide sequestration, where a fundamental understanding based on chemistry, physics, and necessary mathematical tools is needed. The research activities at CERE, DTU Chemistry mainly involve experimental measurement and modelling of phase equilibrium and thermophysical properties at high pressure and development of efficient phase equilibrium calculation algorithms for compositional simulations.

Responsibilities and tasks
The major responsibility of the researcher is to operate and assist in managing the high pressure phase behaviour facilities at the CERE group of DTU Chemistry. The high pressure facilities include a complete set of high pressure high temperature PVT system, high pressure viscometer, high pressure density meter and high pressure calorimeter. The researcher is expected to carry out high pressure PVT and gas injection related studies using the existing high pressure facilities, and to coordinate the daily operation and maintenance of the facilities. It is expected the candidate is familiar with measurement of high pressure phase equilibrium and thermophysical properties. The position also involves further development of the current experimental facilities for dedicated high pressure experiment. The candidate will also help supervise PhD students and project students within the area of high pressure phase behaviour.

The experimental measurement will be carried out with the help from the CERE group at DTU Chemical Engineering. The candidate is expected to collaborate with other groups in CERE as well as with the Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Centre at DTU.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent.

Previous experience with high pressure experimental work on phase behaviour and thermophysical properties is preferred.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.

The post of research scientist is a permanent post as part of which the employee after a maximum of 4 years transfers to a position as senior research scientist provided that the employee is recommended for assessment and is deemed qualified.
