Exemptions for Non-EU/EEA citizens

If you have a “permanent residence permit” or a “time limited residence permit issued with a possibility of permanent residence in Denmark”, you are exempted from paying the application fee. In order to qualify for this exemption, you must include a copy of your residence permit with the application. (* must have this exact wording)  

Applicants with a “time limited residence permit”, a “Green Card” or any other Danish residence permit are required to pay the fee.  

If your application is successful, the application fee will be deducted from the first tuition fee payment that you make to DTU (i.e. your first tuition fee will be EUR 7,400). 

If you are awarded a 100 per cent tuition fee waiver, a refund will not be given.  

The application fee is non-refundable. It is not possible to defer admission.

How to pay:

It is only possible to pay the application fees through bank transfer.

If you do not state your journal number we cannot register your payment and you may be asked to pay again. Please note that you are responsible for all fees in relation to money transfer. 

Application submission, journal number and payment of application fees:

 The steps below should be followed:

  • Submit your online application.
  • Upon successful submission, you will receive an automatically generated acknowledgment mail and your 6 digit journal number will be mentioned just below the date.
  • Pay the application fees and mention your Journal number/ full name at the time of payment. Retain receipt of confirmation.
  • A caseworker from DTU will contact you and re-open your application, so that you can upload the receipt confirming payment of the application fees.

On receipt of the application fee at DTU, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the applicant. Depending on which country the money has been transferred from, it can take up to 10 days, sometimes even more, for the payment to be registered at DTU.

Please note that your application will not be processed until the application fee payment has been registered at DTU.

As a non-EU/EEA citizen you are required to pay a 100 EUR application fee. Please note that your application will not be processed before DTU have received your application fee payment.

Your application fee is non-refundable.

Exemptions for non-EU/EEA citizens to pay the application fee

If you hold one of the following Danish residence permits you are exempt from paying the application fee:

  • A permanent residence permit in Denmark ('Permanent opholdstilladelse')
  • A residence permit with the possibility of a permanent residence in Denmark ('Opholdstilladelse med mulighed for varigt ophold'). Your residence card must state: 'mhp. varigt ophold' or 'mmf varigt ophold'.


You must include a copy of your residence permit card and letter from immigration service together with your application.

 

 

Step-by-Step guide on How to Pay the Application fee

  1. Submit your application of up to 4 MSc programmes at DTU (you will only have to pay 1 application fee of 100 EUR)
  2. You will now receive an email confirmation that you have submitted an application. This email will contain your 6-digit journal number in the top right corner of the pdf-file.
  3. Pay the application fee and remember to state the following in the bank transfer: [Your Full Name] and 91278/83247-[your journal number]
  4. Make sure to get a receipt from the bank
  5. A case-worker will re-open your application allowing you to upload the receipt confirming your payment.
  6. When DTU has received your application fee payment, we will send you a confirmation via the application portal. Please note that international money transfers can take up to 10 days.
