Digital Hub Denmark sees the DTU High Tech Summit as an important national meeting place, which can contribute to promoting the digital transformation of society.

As one of its first actions, Digital Hub Denmark, a public-private partnership set up by the Danish government in May, is donating EUR 67,000 in funding for DTU’s High Tech Summit.

The donation is made in response to an application for funding from DTU, and the money will be used to strengthen the summit activities with matchmaking, to improve access to knowledge and experts at the summit, and to market Denmark’s positions of strength within digitization.

“DTU High Tech Summit is an important meeting place for companies, entrepreneurs, researchers, and university students. Digital Hub Denmark contributes to the content of knowledge and supports the summit financially because it plays a part in promoting the digital transformation of society and accelerating the commercial use of the latest digital technologies. It provides a much-needed national meeting place where future partners can meet, and where we can identify and discuss the key agendas of digitization,” says Per Kogut, chairman of the board for Digital Hub Denmark and CEO of the IT company NNIT.

"The funding from Digital Hub Denmark strengthens the matchmaking that takes place at High Tech Summit and underlines the fact that the summit contributes to a national agenda for the progress of digitization."

DTU President Anders Overgaard Bjarklev welcomes the cooperation and financial support from Digital Hub Denmark and is delighted that High Tech Summit is recognized as an event for all universities and all parts of the Danish business community.

“It is essential that we have an annual summit where companies have a chance to meet the academic environments, researchers, and students who can help develop the solutions to the challenges faced by production. The funding from Digital Hub Denmark strengthens the matchmaking that takes place at High Tech Summit and underlines the fact that the summit contributes to a national agenda for the progress of digitization,” says Anders Overgaard Bjarklev.

High Tech Summit is Denmark’s first university-run technology summit for digitization. The summit is organized by DTU for the second time and will include research and new technology introductions, presentations, and debates relevant to all parts of the Danish business community. This year, the summit has a special focus on the huge potential of digital technologies within health, food, and biotech, and the processing and analysis of the large volumes of data currently processed in all the units of the companies.

High Tech Summit 2018 takes place on 10-11 October at DTU Lyngby Campus, where more than 4,000 visitors, 700 companies and 250 start-ups are expected to attend.
