BlueBio Cofund IPBES Danish Centre for Marine Research ERVO blue bioeconomy EUROFLEETS COFASP

Current activities include:Head of the land-based management of R/V DANA and other vessels.Representing the National Institute for Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua) in various settings, related to defining research needs for development of the blue bioeconomy. - e.g.: Representing Denmark in the Standing Committee for Agricultural Research  group on aquatic resources (SCAR-FISH) which provding advice on European agricultural and wider bioeconomy research focusing on needs in the aquatic systems, Representing Denmark in The Joint Programming Initiative Healthy and Productive Seas and Oceans (JPI Oceans) which is providing a long-term integrated approach to marine and maritime research and technology development in Europe, President of the European Fisheries and Aquaculture Research Organisations Association (EFARO), with the vision of providing a coordinated, trusted and influential community of Fisheries and Aquaculture research institutes supporting sustainable management and use of seas, oceans and aquatic resources, through the provision of sound science and scientific advice for the people of Europe.Advisor in the Blue Bioeconomy Cofund, a public-public partnership initiative among Member States of the EU with the aim of supporting innovative, sustainable and climate-friendly possibilities to produce, harvest and exploit aquatic biomass from different trophic levels for use in food and other value chains.Represent DTU in the steering group of IPBES DenmarkParticipate in the Danish Centre for Marine Research (DCH) sekretariat, involving all Danish universities doing marine research and the Navy - see www.danskhavforskning.netParticipating in ERVO (European Research Vessels Operators).(executive Committee member 2019-)Partner in EUROFLEETS+Participated as Scientific Project Manager in the EU ERA-NET "Cooperation in Fisheries, Aquaculture and Sea food Processing" (COFASP). Prevously also invovlved in MARCOM+, EUROFLEETS2 (EU FP7 projects).Development of new monitoring concepts - for e.g. habitat mapping. Previous experience includes the marine section of the United Nations Environment Programme, Division of Early Warning and Assessment (UNEP-DEWA) and National Environmental Research Institute of Denmark (NERI/DMU) -Dept. of Marine Ecology. Advisor for the start-up company Berring Data Collective. Also publisher and owner of a private publishing company.
