The research aim of the traffic model group (TMG) at DTU Transport is wide within the area of development of cutting edge models and application of state of the art models for traffic and transport.
Analyses are diverted towards models for choice of single mode, multimode trip chains, public mode, private mode and combinations hereof. Further optimisation of trips from the users’ perspective and from the supply point of view.
The group also works with traffic planning in relation to both road, public transport and railways, and the group is responsible for the new study line Railway Technology.
Areas of special interest are
· Optimisation of route choice models for public and private transport
· Road pricing
· Dynamic route choice models
· Simulation methods
· Traffic behaviour models
· GIS based object models for multimodal transport networks
· The link between traffic, location and car ownership
· Multimodal route choice models for public and private transport
· Traffic behaviour surveys and data analyses
· Uncertainties in traffic models and decision basis
The research staff includes 1 Professor, 3 Associate Professors, 4 Assistant Professors, 5 Ph.D.-students 2 Research Assistants and 1 Project Manager. A list of researchers can be found here.
