Our research team within solar cell systems for solar farms, building integration and integration into cable-free solutions is growing rapidly. We are therefore looking for a highly motivated Research Assistant with extensive experience in solar cell technology. If you want to help strengthen and secure the development of tomorrow's solar cell solutions, we have the challenges you're looking for. The position is for occupation per 1 October 2018 and is limited to 1 year.

Responsibilities and tasks
Your primary task will be to performing measurements in solar cell projects and building tailor-made measuring systems for this. Furthermore, you will be modelling the solar cell systems based on the acquired data using statistical analysis software. You are professionally strong in the areas of solar farms, building integrated and product integrated solar cell systems, and have competencies at the research level. You have an extensive experience within performance, reliability and safety tests on solar PV modules of all technology types. You feel at home in laboratory facilities to test and characterize solar cells and solar panels. You are also expected to be part of the Department's teaching obligations in solar cell technology.

Your professional qualifications 

  • Has a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Has solid experience with test and measurement tasks in solar cell technology.
  • Has at least 3-5 years of experience in scientific work in solar cell technology
  • Completes tasks on time
  • Has solid experience with several of the following tools: MS Office, JMP and JSL, CRBASIC, PVSyst, eQuest, Matlab, Arduino, Python, OrCAD, AutoCAD, LabVIEW.
  • You can communicate seamlessly in English in writing and speaking
Your personal qualities
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills
  • Has good cooperation and communication skills and can convey a message
  • Takes the opportunity to assess situations and can make independent decisions
  • Possesses a high stress threshold and can maintain overview in pressured situations

In addition, building integrated photovoltaic solutions are developed and tested. Recently, a 0.43MWp tracker based solar farm has been built on campus with high flexibility for research which will be the major facility used for research in this position.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

Your workplace is at DTU Fotonik at Risø Campus in Roskilde - close to good bus connections to Roskilde Station and Ølstykke Station.
