Just to give you a brief overview of the workshop:
The OWTNM workshop focuses on the most up-to-date analytical and numerical aspects of the simulation of optical waveguides, but also encompasses advances in theoretical and modelling methods used in other areas of optics and photonics. The goal of the meeting is an open exchange of ideas between scientists. We encourage researchers not only promote their achievements and solutions, but to reveal and discuss the problems encountered in analysis.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Theory of passive, active and nonlinear waveguide devices
• Simulation and design of photonic integrated systems
• Waveguide grating structures
• Input/output waveguide coupling aspects
• Photonic bandgap structures and photonic crystals
• Photonic crystal fibres
• Photonic nanostructures and metamaterials
• Plasmonics
• Advances in numerical methods
• Progress in mode solvers
• Mathematical models and numerical methods
• Device and system-oriented modelling
• Coupling of electronic, photonic, elastic and thermal effects
• Solid-state lasers and light-matter coupling in waveguides
It is planned that selected contributions will be published in a Special Issue of the Optical and Quantum Electronics journal.
