Klimaforskning

DTU collaborates with other research institutions within the climate area and is among others member of the steering committee of the Coordination Unit for Research in Climate Adaptation (KFT), which work for the benefit of the global response to climate change and adaptation.

 

Besides DTU the participants in KFTs steering are DMI, GEUS, the universities of Copenhagen and Aarhus, Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building, Danish Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education.

 

KFTs activities have concentrated on a nationwide survey of research competencies and projects of relevance to research into adaptation in Denmark and internationally.

 

The Scientific Advisory Panel

The task of the Scientific Advisory Panel is to identify and implement research projects across sectors focusing on climate adaptation. Five of the panel's 23 members come from DTU, where they represent the disciplines of construction, water supply, energy, fisheries and economics.

 

Sustainable Energy Education, Innovation, and Technology

Within the climate and energy area the SEEIT (Sustainable Energy Education, Innovation, and Technology) collaboration has been established. It is a strategic partnership that works to promote the development of sustainable energy through integrating research, education and innovation.

 

European Energy Research Alliance

DTU participates in several joint programs under the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA), e.g. in the topic Smart Cities. EERA has aims as to ensure better organization of research in Europe. Behind EERA are ten leading European research institutions.

 

European Climate Research Alliance

DTU is a founding member of the research collaboration European Climate Research Alliance (ECRA). ECRA contribute to bring together expertise and infrastructure within the European climate research and form an effective network between eight leading European research institutions with research in the effects of climate change, mitigation and adaptation.
