P4G summit in brief

Denmark invites you to the P4G Summit—Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030—which is held in Copenhagen on 19-20 October.

The purpose of the summit is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable global economy. The focus is on developing, promoting, and financing public-private partnerships which can lead to collaboration on specific solutions to, for example, food waste, plastic in the oceans, overuse of resources, water scarcity, pollution, and traffic congestion in major cities.

The summit extends over two days. On day one, Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen will welcome participants at the offices of the Confederation of Danish Industry. Subsequently, the Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark, the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate, the Danish Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, and the City of Copenhagen will host a number of sessions on food and agriculture, water, energy, sustainable cities and the circular economy. On day two, heads of state and governments will gather at the DR Concert Hall. Here, the focus will be on political leadership at a global level. Not just for politicians, but for global leaders representing cities, trade and industry, civil society, and knowledge institutions.

P4G is a global initiative with the ambition of becoming the world’s leading forum for developing concrete public-private partnerships on a large scale to deliver on the Global Goals for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement.

The summit will be attended by participants from 47 different countries, representing 73 per cent of the world’s population.
