structural engineering and materials science, starting from May 1, 2019.
Responsibilities and tasks
The main objectives of the
proposed project are to develop an enhanced mechanical evaluation model for the
prediction of the behavior of the cement sheath in Oil & Gas wells. The
evaluation model will consist mainly of developing experimental methods to
assess material properties and subsequent numerical modeling of realistic load/environmental
conditions. The main objective of this PhD project is to develop an enhanced
mechanical property evaluation to test the behavior of cement sheaths for
underground conditions. The test methods developed will realistically resemble
the underground conditions and load cases.
The project will be held in
collaboration with DTU Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Development center and
have potential for collaboration with industry partners.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a two-year master's
degree (120 ECTS points) in civil engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent
