Leiden Ranking is developed by a team of researchers at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS), Leiden University, Netherlands.

CWTS has more than 25 years of experience with the development of quantitative indicators for the assessment and benchmarking of research. The centre employs approximately 50 researchers.
