DTU Bioengineering

The Technical University of Denmark, Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine (DTU Bioengineering), is looking for a number of skilled and enthusiastic lab technicians, to be employed in one of the Core Facilities of the Section for Protein Science and Biotherapeutics. We are a widely accessible core facility, providing high resolution Mass Spectrometry (MS) proteomics analyses of a wide range of samples, for an even wider range of customers from both industry and academia. The position is focused on MS based N-glycan analyses, including sample preparation, sample analysis and subsequent data processing using our automated software pipelines. Experience in a wide array of proteomics workflows is considered a benefit (e.g cell lysis, protein digestion, phospho-enrichment, peptide de-salting), and previous experience with handling ThermoFisher Scientific instruments is a strong advantage. Experience with general chromatography approaches (UHPLC, high pH fractionation, etc.) and MS instrument methods (DDA, DIA, PRM) is a distinct advantage.

Primary responsibilities
In collaboration with other technicians and facility employees, you will be responsible for running the Orbitrap Fusion MS instrument for glycan analysis and be a part of the team handling the large variety of MS instruments (ThermoFisher QExactive, Orbitrap Fusion, Orbitrap Exploris 480, Orbitrap Eclipse Tribrid) and chromatography equipment (EasyLC1200, Ultimate3000, EvoSep) at the facility, and the running and maintenance thereof. You will also be involved in general maintenance of the laboratories, procurement of chemicals and instruction of project students, collaborators and young researchers. In return, you will be involved in a wide range of projects, be part of cutting-edge research & development, and have access to the latest generations of high resolution, high sensitivity MS instruments, housed in a purpose-built, brand new facility. You will work in a highly international environment, and in collaboration with other facility employees be able to pursue novel workflows and methods in an ever-developing field. In addition to the facility responsibilities, you will also be part of a technician team, which is responsible for handling key infrastructure tasks within the section.

Our expectations of you
You are a trained laboratory technician with good English skills in writing and speaking, a routine user of Microsoft Office, and preferably of MS specific software, and have knowledge and experience with work and safety in a dynamic research environment with many international employees.

Salary and appointment terms
Salary and appointment terms are in accordance with the OAO-S Joint Agreement and the organization agreement for Office Clerks, Laboratory Technicians and IT staff (HK/stat).

The position is full time, but a part-time employment can be negotiated. Start date: September 1st, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
