Brush up mathematics

To give you the best start and help you make it through your studies, DTU is offering an online brush-up course in mathematics. The course is in English. DTU also offers an intensive brush-up course in mathematics on campus. This course is offered in Danish only. DTU expects you to at least do the online course in mathematics before commencing your studies, so you are well-prepared for life as a student. Both courses are free.

Brush-up online

You can train mathematics online on the DTU Mathematics portal when and where it suits you. On the portal, you get immediate feedback and a sense of whether you are ready to start studying at DTU, or whether there are topics you need to brush up on. If you encounter a difficult assignment, you can contact one of our teaching assistants either by phone or by email. The teaching assistants are DTU students and are there to help. If you need further training, on the Mathematics portal, you can also sign up for our intensive four-day brush-up course.

On the portal, you will find both a brief initial test and a selection of assignments divided into topics. You can train the various sets of assignments as many times as you like.

The Mathematics portal opens on 3 August. Use your DTU password to log on to the portal.

Mathematics on campus in Danish

DTU offers an intensive four-day brush-up course in mathematics from Monday 19 August to Thursday 22 August 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The course will be held on Lyngby Campus, and registration takes place via the Mathematics portal. Please note that the instruction is in Danish only.

Those with a high grade-point average or who do well on the Mathematics portal are also welcome.

You must bring your own laptop or pocket calculator and something to write on. You are not required to buy a new calculator; just bring your existing one, if you have one.
