The course provides

You will learn about the following topics:

  • The basic aspects of circadian lighting
  • Lighting for workplaces, homes and elderly/healthcare units
  • How  do you verify the quality of circadian lighting
  • Flicker and the impact of flicker on human health
  • Light therapy for Alzheimer's and dementia
  • Lighting for delivery rooms and neonatal care lighting

At the course you will also get hands-on experience with light measurement equipment.

The presentations and theoretical material will be compiled in handed out compendium.

This course is for

The course is designed for engineers, light designers, architects, practioneers and Danish municipalities employees who are willing to acquire a solid understanding and ready-to-apply good practices in regard to lighting for healthcare and wellbeing.

Who will give lectures?

The lectures are given by experts at DTU's Department of Photonics Engineering, Danish hospitals, UC Berkeley and the University of Groningen.
