Why does DTU offer Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)?

There are many good reasons for why DTU have decided to offer Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Here are the most important:

  • The new technologies and the rapid innovation in online learning lead to better education - not only for the many thousands of MOOC students, but also for the regular students who are already studying at DTU.
  • MOOCs combined with courses at the DTU campus allow you to be part of a global classroom, such as makes you as a student an international academic network and a global perspective on your career development.
  • Knowledge sharing to all interested persons who do not necessarily have the opportunity to complete a regular full-time study. This is in line with our commitment to the tradition that research and teaching at DTU should be of benefit to society.
  • DTU can use MOOCs to attract international students to their programs and optimize access to lifelong learning in Denmark and beyond.
