In the next five years, DTU's academic environments will strengthen their opportunities to start projects within maritime technology and maritime green transformation. This is thanks to a new framework grant from the Orients Fond.

The grant is anchored at the cross-cutting center Maritime DTU and will thus benefit DTU's academic environments across disciplines via research projects, PhD projects, teaching activities, etc.

This is the second time that the Orient Foundation has generously provided significant financial support for the broad benefit of DTU's academic environments and for the benefit of a long-term knowledge building in the maritime sector.

A very current agenda in the maritime sector is green conversion, including green fuels. In this context, DTU has completed a small sector development project concerning precisely ‘Green fuels in Blue Denmark’, where the final report points to a number of key knowledge needs as an obvious focus for future maritime research in collaboration with industry.
