Assistant Professor Ongun Berk Kazanci, DTU Sustain, has received the SCANVAC Award for young researchers” from SCANVAC - Scandinavian Federation of Heating, Ventilation and Sanitary Engineering Associations in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

Ongun receives the award for his considerable research effort in sustainable and resilient heating, cooling, and ventilation systems (often referred to as HVAC systems), indoor environmental quality and its effects on occupants’ comfort, satisfaction and wellbeing. These areas are critical for the sustainable development of the construction sector, as our buildings need to be future-proofed by replacing the fossil fuels with renewable energy sources, minimizing energy demands and creating the optimal indoor environment for building occupants. 

The SCANVAC Award for young researchers

The objective of the award is to appreciate and encourage young researchers in the Nordic countries who work within the field of heating, ventilation and sanitation. The award shall be awarded to a person under 35 years of age who has made a considerable effort that can be researched and confirmed in the scientific literature.
