This year, VILLUM FONDEN has selected 15 projects, each receiving DKK 3 million. All projects are data-driven, but the partner depends entirely on the nature of the problem to be addressed.

Dimitrios Papadopoulos, Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, receives, in collaboration with Isak Worre Foged, Institute of Architecture and Design, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, the grant for the project ”Matters”
Ole Winther, Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, receives, in collaboration with Darach Jafar Watson, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, the grant for the project ”METAL AI - Machine learning for heavy element energy levels and emission intensities”
Jeppe Revall Frisvad, Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, receives, in collaboration with Michael Kühl, Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen, the grant for the project ”CORALS - New strategies for harvesting solar energy using coral-inspired microgeometry”
Hugo-Andrés López-Acosta, Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, receives, in collaboration with Alexandra Andhov, Centre for Private Governance, University of Copenhagen, the grant for the project ”Center for Digital CompliancE (DICE)”

Villum Fonden is a private foundation founded in 1971. In 2021, the non-profit foundation granted approximately DKK 1.5 billion to technical and scientific research as well as environmental, social, and cultural purposes in Denmark and abroad.
