Jan Madsen is new Head of Department at DTU Compute and has been employed at DTU since 1 September 1986. For the past 12 years, Jan Madsen has been Deputy Director of DTU Compute and has thus helped shape and develop the department for the international position it has today.
For many years, Jan Madsen has researched embedded systems in the intersection between computer science and biotechnology, with a particular focus on the design, modelling, and construction of microelectronic, microfluidic, and microbiological computer systems, including the development of tools and methods for the automatic design of such systems.
"In recent years, Jan Madsen has had an increased interest in the role of the university and not least the engineer in a modern digitalized society. Based on DTU's core value – "we develop technology for people" – he has, among other things, helped develop strategy and vision for how we ensure democratic, and open societies by informing and engaging universities, the private sector, the public sector, and not least the citizens in the digital transformation and its impact on society. We welcome Jan Madsen to the University Leadership and Management Forum," says DTU President Anders Bjarklev.
The appointment took effect on November 1, 2022.
