DTU strengthens its Executive Board with new Senior Vice President

Carsten Orth Gaarn-Larsen is employed as Senior Vice President at DTU per. 1 May 2021. Together with the rest of the Executive Board, he must ensure that DTU lives up to its ambitious strategy and work for DTU's presence throughout the country.

Carsten Orth Gaarn-Larsen has recently been CEO of CLEAN, Denmark's green cluster within energy and environmental technology. Their primary purpose is to create growth and employment in Denmark through close public-private partnerships. During the same period, Carsten Orth Gaarn-Larsen was president of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences (ATV). He was behind the vision "Denmark must be among the five leading Science and Engineering regions in the world for the benefit of future generations".

Carsten Orth Gaarn-Larsen's CV also includes a former director of Højteknologifonden and 14 years of employment with TDC, i.a. as vice president with responsibility for product and service development as well as corporate venture.

In summary, Carsten Orth Gaarn-Larsen's working life has focused on public-private partnerships, especially in areas where technology creates value for society.

Carsten Orth Gaarn-Larsen has a cand. polyt. (M.Sc.Eng.) in electronics from DTU and cand. merc. (MSc (Econ.)) in organisation and management. He also holds an HD (Graduate Diploma) in foreign trade from CBS.
