DTU has jumped 36 places on the
Global University Employability Ranking, and is now ranked 76th. The list ranks universities according to the employability of graduates.
DTU graduates are assessed as being even more attractive job candidates when you ask CEOs and recruitment specialists from international companies in 20 countries. This is one of the most recent findings of the ranking Global University Employability Ranking recently published by THE (Times Higher Education).
This year, DTU has taken a giant leap from 112th place to 76th on this global ranking.
Seen solely in the context of European universities, DTU is ranked 33rd, and among Nordic universities, the University comes in as high as fourth place.
What is an employable candidate?
The survey respondents—including 3,450 CEOs in international companies—agree that a candidate’s employability is a mix of job-related competences that include relevant work experience, a high degree of specialization, and mastering at least two foreign languages. They also emphasize ‘softer’ values such as attitude and behaviour, reflecting a candidate’s adaptability, teamworking, and communication skills.

The top ten spots are dominated by British and American universities, with first place going to the California Institute of Technology—while second and third places go to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Havard University, respectively.
Only one European university is ranked in the top ten: DTU’s alliance university—Technische Universität München (TUM)—in eighth place. Read more about DTU’s European alliance ‘EuroTech Universities’.
