Independent Research Fund Denmark awards DKK 214 mio. to 36 young scientists with original ideas and high ambitions. Six are from DTU.
Some of Denmark's most talented research talents receive Sapere Aude Starting grants from the Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF). According to the foundation, the goal is to support young researchers who help to renew Danish research and create the foundation for future centers of excellence and research innovations.
Six out of this year's 36 recipients are from DTU and span academically broadly across DTU's research areas:
Associate professor Jon Spangenberg from DTU Mechanical Engineering receives DKK 6,2 mio. for the project The digital engine for 3D printing.

Research scientist Mikkel Heuck, now at MIT, will move to DTU Fotonik as a senior researcher as per February 1. He receives DKK 6,2 mio. for the project Nonlinear Photonic Devices for Quantum Networks.
