10 DTU researchers receive grants from the Independent Research Fund Denmark for their green research projects.

The Independent Research Fund Denmark is awarding a total of DKK 97 million to 31 research projects that will promote the green transition.

The 10 grant recipients

  • Professor Alexander Kai Büll, DTU Bioengineering, receives the grant for the project ”Energy-efficient plant based protein materials from hydrolysis and phase separation”
  • Tenure Track Assistant Professor Arghya Bhowmik, DTU Energy, receives the grant for the project ”Autonomous agents of Discovery for earth-Abundant Na-ion battery cathodes (ADANA)”
  • Senior Researcher Dennis Valbjørn Christensen, DTU Energy, receives the grant for the project ”A Solid Look at the Green Transition”
  • Professor Ioannis S. Chronakis, DTU National Food Institute, receives the grant for the project ”Fish skin waste valorization to novel healthy food ingredients and precision prebiotics”
  • Professor Ivan Mijakovic, DTU Biosustain, receives the grant for the project ”Combining nanomaterials, biodegradable polymers and quorum sensing inhibitors to suppress bacterial biofilms that cause marine biofouling”
  • Professor Kasper Steen Pedersen, DTU Chemistry, receives the grant for the project ”Atomically Precise Metal Cluster Catalysts”
  • Senior Researcher Minhao Pu, DTU Electro, receives the grant for the project ”Energy-Efficient Integrated Frequency Comb Generator via Self-Injection Locking”
  • Professor Rasmus Bjørk, DTU Energy, receives the grant for the project ”Magnetothermal harvesting of low-grade waste heat”
  • Associate Professor Søren Kramer, DTU Chemistry, receives the grant for the project ”Visible Light-Enabled Enantioselective C-H Oxidation”
  • Associate Professor Ulrik Dam Nielsen, DTU Construct, receives the grant for the project ”Wave Estimation and Forecasting Using Ships as Wave Buoys”
