Kathrin Kirchner is Associate Professor at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where she researches how artificial intelligence is transforming work, management, and organizations. Her work examines the opportunities and challenges emerging from the increasing integration of AI into knowledge-intensive and technology-enabled workplaces.Her research focuses on generative AI, algorithmic management, digital platforms, and data-driven organizational practices. She investigates how AI reshapes managerial work, knowledge creation, employee autonomy, learning, collaboration, and workplace well-being. A central theme in her research is how organizations can implement AI responsibly while creating value for both employees and businesses.Kathrin is involved in research projects exploring AI adoption, the future of managerial work, and digital transformation. Her work combines perspectives from information systems, organization studies, and work environment research to better understand the human consequences of emerging technologies.At DTU, she develops and teaches courses on digital transformation with AI and leadership with AI-driven decision-making. She supervises PhD candidates and students working on topics related to AI, the future of work, organizational change, and digital innovation. She also serves as Study Programme Leader for the IT Diploma Further Education Programme at DTU.Kathrin serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Workplace Health Management, Editorial Board Member of Electronic Markets, and Board Member of the Scandinavian Academy of Industrial Engineering and Management (ScAIEM).
