A project on portable ultrasound scanners, developed by Professor Erik V. Thomsen from DTU Nanotech and Professor Jørgen Arendt Jensen from DTU Electrical Engineering, is this year’s winner of the Grand Solution prize 2017. The prize is awarded by the Innovation Fund Denmark and it was presented at the EliteForsk conference on the 23rd of February 2017.

Erik V. Thomsen and Jørgen Arendt Jensen have developed a portable ultrasound scanner which is less expensive, easier to use, and provides images of a higher quality than current scanning equipment resulting in better diagnosing, cost savings and shorter periods of waiting for the analyses.
