The authorities’ response

In view of the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Denmark, the authorities' strategy has now changed from containment to a mitigation strategy.

The focus remains on preventing the spread of the infection with coronavirus, but now especially on those who are seriously ill or belong to special risk groups such as people with chronic illness, elderly and pregnant.

Most infected will have mild symptoms. Therefore, tests are no longer needed, based solely on prior travel history. The National Board of Health therefore no longer has a list of specific risk areas on the website. If you have been in areas with widespread infection with COVID-19, you should continue to be aware of symptoms such as cough, fever and difficulty breathing. Stay at home if these occur.
