Keywords hydrogeology; ecohydrology; risk assessment; decision support systems; groundwater-surface water interactions; uncertainty; contaminated sites management

Ursula S. McKnight works in the field of hydrogeology, focusing particularly on ecohydrology and risk assessment. This includes decision support systems development using system dynamics modeling approaches for the simulation of environmental systems;  groundwater-surface water interactions, including field characterization techniques for the quantification of contaminant impacts to surface water ecosystems, with a special focus on coupling the use of field-based and modeling approaches for assessing the sources of multiple stressors (pesticides; chlorinated solvents) impacting surface water quality at a variety of scales; contaminant transport in porous and fractured media; incorporation of uncertainty in the management and risk assessment of contaminated sites. She has significant experience working on large collaboration projects with international academic institutions, leading Danish consulting companies (Orbicon, DHI, Cowi) and administrative bodies (Danish EPA). 7 ISI journal publications; 1 patent [in preparation]; 67 citations, H-index=4. Co-supervisor for 4 PhD projects and supervisor/co-supervisor for 5 master thesis students.
