The successful applicant must haves a proven background in troubleshooting, maintenance and operation of electron microscopes/focused ion beam or equivalent types of equipment with an emphasis on mechatronics maintenance skills. Our tools combine many different areas, such as vacuum technology, x-rays, high tension (300 kV), low currents (pico amps), high-speed data transfer (Gbit/s) as well as gas handling of toxic gasses and cryogenic temperatures (liquid nitrogen) – that means that you must be able to navigate safely with complicated tools possibly with complicated problems.

DTU Nanolab’s characterization section houses electron microscopes in a high specification building. The building was constructed to provide the very best possible operating conditions for the instruments; these include one Dual-Beam, four SEMs, two Titan aberration-corrected TEMs and two conventional Tecnai TEMs.
