A full time laboratory technician position is available at the Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine, Protein Chemistry and Enzyme Technology section. Daily workplace will be at Lyngby Campus.

The position will support research activities at the section, which use a wide range of techniques including molecular biology, recombinant protein production and purification, enzymology, protein biophysics and crystallisation for structural analysis. The position also includes practical responsibility for an experimental biochemistry BSc course and taking part common tasks within the section.

Your tasks will be to:

  • Perform and document research experimental activities
  • Take responsibility for the practical part of an experimental biochemistry course
  • Support common section activities including responsibility for equipment and laboratories

Qualifications
You should have a laboratory technician education and experience from a research and/or teaching environment. Expertise in production and purification of recombinant proteins, carbohydrate active enzyme assays, analyses and enzyme kinetics.

Ideal candidates:

  • Have a good balance of being well organized and efficient
  • Good command of written and oral English and Danish communication
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel is a good advantage

Assessment
The assessment of candidates will be made by Profs Maher Abou Hachem, Jens Preben Morth and Tech Coordinator Michael Krogsgaard Nielsen.

Salary and appointment terms
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the OAO-S joint agreement and association agreement for office workers, laboratory technicians and IT staff (HK/Stat) signed with the Danish Ministry of Finance.

The work will be mainly carried out at the DTU Lyngby campus, but research exchange stay(s) to the labs of international collaboration partners may take place as relevant in the project.

The employment is expected to start 1 January 2021.
