I do research on food contact materials. My research is focused on the testing and evaluating chemical food safety of new innovative and recycled plastic materials. My key interest is develop and implement a testing strategy for target and non-target screening testing of prototype plastic food packaging materials by mass spectrometry techniques (high-resolution GCMS and LCMS) and estimating toxicity using models for quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR). The results are directly used to evaluate food safety and compliance of the recycled plastic packaging.
