CURRICULUM VITAE Teaching of university students in fluid mechanics, ventilation, indoor climate and heat-and-mass transfer. Supervisor for 110 Master of Science students, 30 Ph.D. students and 6 Postdoctoral students from 10 countries. Research in the field of aerodynamics, heat-and-mass transfer, human response to indoor environment,air distribution in buildings and in vehicles, advanced air distribution methods for and systemsfor personalized ventilation and protection of people against polluted and infected air. Measuring instruments have been developed based on the research.Principle and co-principle investigator of more than 55 research projects sponsored by government and private organization in 9 countries (including several European projects). Author and co-author of 380 technical papers published in 15 languages. Results of research included in international and national indoor climate standards as well as Handbooks for HVAC engineers. Member of several professional societies, technical and standardization committees. Has received numerous awards for his work, including Rydberg Gould Medal of the Scandinavian Federation of Heating, Ventilation and Sanitary Engineering Associations in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden (SCANVAC), International Honorary Member of the Society of Heating, Air-Conditioning and Sanitary Engineers of Japan– SHASE( 2007), Distinguished Services Awardof the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers– ASHRAE( 2006), Medal for long-standing contribution to the field of environmental engineeringof the Czech Society of Environmental Engineering( 2006), Member of the International Academy of Indoor Air Sciences( 2005), Honorary Member ofthe Bulgarian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers– BULSHRAE( 2003), Fellow Awardof the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers– ASHRAE( 2003), etc. Collaborates with researchers from more than 15 universities, including University of Tokyo , National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, Shunshu University, Waseda University, Aalto University, etc. He collaborates with industry in research and development of new technologies and products.
