Jane Hvolbæk Nielsen (JHN) is Head of Department at DTU Physics and is working to enhance fundamental research and applications of new knowledge to the benefit of society. JHN's research is within the area of correlating material properties and material structure on the nanometer scale within in the Danish National Research Foundation center, CINF (Center for Individual Nanoparticle Functionality). Furthermore, JHN is working with bachelor, master, and PhD education within materials physics - in particular the Bachelor (link in Danish) and Master educations in Physics and Nanotechnology  and is focused on giving young people an interest in technical sciene and natural science, for example through activities in Nanoteket DTU (link in Danish).
